Climate

The average daily high in Los Cabos during the month of July is 84°F, while the average overnight low is 78°F.

Clothing

Attire at the resort is casual during the day and resort casual/elegant in the evening. During the day, it is suggested you wear shorts, shirts, swimwear with a cover-up, and comfortable walking shoes. For the evening, dress shorts or slacks and collared shirts are recommended for the men. For ladies, it is best to wear lightweight slacks, sun dresses, or warm-weather dresses. Athletic clothing and shoes are suggested for activities such as walking, kayaking, etc.

 

Resort Casual Attire

  • Ladies: a sundress or a blouse paired with shorts, a skirt, or jeans

  • Men: a shirt paired with shorts or jeans

 

Resort Elegant Attire

  • Ladies: dress or blouse with skirt or slacks

  • Men: slacks and collared shirt

Smoking Policy

As a part of the social eco-awareness permanently promoted by the resort, the common areas, as well as all suites at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica have a non-smoking policy. Nonetheless, the hotel has designated special locations where guests can smoke in a pleasant atmosphere.

Baggage

Luggage tags are necessary for airport and hotel identification. Most airlines charge a fee for checked bags per passenger and charge a fee for bags exceeding the weight of 50 pounds. Carry all travel documents, identification, valuables, and necessary medications on board the aircraft with you for safety and accessibility. Do not pack valuables or medications in your checked luggage.

Once you arrive in Los Cabos you will proceed to the passport control and immigration line.  After passing through the passport control desk, you’ll proceed to baggage claim to pick up your bags. Once you have your luggage, you’ll pass through customs.  You’ll show them your form, and they will x-ray your bags.

Documentation

It is the employee’s responsibility to maintain a current passport and to ensure the correct documentation is obtained in advance of travel where required.  All foreigners do require a passport to enter Los Cabos, Mexico. Most countries require that your passport is valid at least 6 months after your return date. Visa requirements, including transit visas should be checked when the airline reservation is made. 

Hotel requires a copy of passport upon arrival.

 

Please note that your name on your airline ticket must match your passport exactly. No exceptions.

Airline Transportation

Please review your itinerary for your flight information and make sure you are flying into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). When checking in for your flight, be sure that checked luggage is properly tagged to your final destination. Please reconfirm your flight with the airline 24 hours prior to departure. We strongly recommend that you check in for your flight at least two and a half hours prior to departure.

Ground Transportation

Ground transportation to and from Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and any hosted group activities will be provided to guests during group dates.

Local Time

The local time zone is Mountain Standard Time (GMT-0700). Los Cabos, Mexico does not observe daylight savings time. 

Local Currency

Local currency in Los Cabos is peso (RD$) but they will take the U.S. Dollar as well in some locations.

Local Electricity

Electrical connections in Los Cabos operate at 110V/60 Hertz and the outlets take the same two-prong plugs found in the United States.

Local Drinking Water

It is strongly recommended to drink bottled water only, however the ice is safe as it is made with filtered water. Treat it as you would in Mexico, use the bottled water for brushing teeth but safe to shower with. 

Tips

HOYA has provided gratuities for hotel personnel, housekeeping, luggage-handling, ground transportation and other service personnel for the events included in your program.  A gratuity for meals and activities at your leisure and off-property is left to your discretion.

 

Although tips and gratuities are included in your trip, if you would like to tip your server or venture out of the resort, please keep in mind the average tip for service is 10-15% and one or two dollars per suitcase carried.  Always check your bill first as tips may already be included.

Cellphone Use

If you plan to use your cell phone, it is highly recommended to verify with your cell phone provider on the use and fees of your cell phone while visiting an international destination.  Keep in mind that higher international fees may apply not only for making phone calls, but to also access your emails, Facebook, and text messages. 

Internet Use

Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the resort, so you can stay in touch with friends and family or take care of business anytime during your stay.

HOYA Ring of Honor Hospitality Desk

Your HOYA Travel Staff will be on hand throughout your program and can be contacted at the Hospitality Desk or through the hotel operator.  Staff will be available to assist you in any way possible with recommendations for restaurants, shopping, activities, and sightseeing tips.  Please do not hesitate to stop by daily for anything you may need, to check the daily schedule of events, or just to say hello.
